A new book, authored by Edge Hill Business School’s Professor Paresh Wankhade, has been published as part of the Routledge State of the Art in Business Research series.
The forthcoming book entitled “Emergency Services Management: A Research Overview” highlights the research gap and professionalisation journeys of the ambulance, fire & rescue and police services
Co-authored with Professor Peter Murphy at Nottingham Trent University, the book explores the application of public management theories to emergency services and the development of professionalism within the police, fire and rescue and ambulance services.
Drawing on latest research, it examines the increasing need for better collaboration and identifies the nature and extent of the academic and practitioner divide and the research gap between the academic and professional communities in each of the services.
